About the Author

Jeanne Celestine Lakin is an award-winning author and inspirational national speaker. She has captivated thousands by sharing her survival story during the Rwandan genocide, living the power of forgiveness, and encouraging the unification of the human family. By age 14, Jeanne was attending an American school studying English and grappling with what she experienced during the genocide—the abuse suffered during years spent as an orphan. In adulthood, she earned multiple degrees, became a specialist in international adoption and higher education, and established a charity program. Passionate about the unmet needs of children, she founded the nonprofit program, One Million Orphans that provides education to orphans around the world. Her story is a fascinating and compelling testimony of a person prevailing over adversity.
